MID-CENTURY REMODEL

Mercer Terrace

Mid-century modern jumps forward half a century with contemporary cabinets, lighting, windows, doors, and finishes. This Mercer Island home from the 60’s has also been expanded slightly to allow for a more spacious kitchen, dining, and family room. The fireplace has been completely redone with custom cabinetry, highlighting art and concealing audio-video components. Outside, the new entry walk has been lightened by raising the roofline of the garage, a new terrace added in the back yard, and new landscaping throughout.

Palm Springs

Located in the middle of a block, known as a “flag lot”. The design was conceived as a U-shape wrapping around a private courtyard with the swimming pool and spa as the primary focus. The courtyard also frames views of the mountains to the west. Multiple outdoor living spaces are created with deep roof overhangs and a “ramada”

This new home nestles amongst the trees of a watershed to take advantage of smaller moments of privacy in an otherwise urban environment. Mid-century lines divide airy interior volumes anchored by a concrete garage.

Medina

This cubist-inspired, mid-century modern home was originally constructed in 1970, designed by noted Seattle architect Ibsen Nelson. An angular wing added in the 80's. Our design restores the original architect’s geometry, but re-invents the plan.
